Our Beliefs

As United Methodists, we believe in God as made known to us through Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We have faith in God’s mystery of salvation in and through Jesus Christ. We believe that God’s redemptive love is realized in human life by the Holy Spirit, both individually and in the community of the Church. We recognize the primacy of Scripture, and look to it, along with reason, tradition, and experience to direct us. The recognition of God’s amazing grace for us, and our need to act gracefully in relationship with others, is a distinctive emphasis of our United Methodist beliefs.

A full statement of our beliefs as United Methodist Christians can be found in The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church, 2012, on pages 45-78.
